With a new year, new traditions are already in the making. The Auxvasse Rodeo is returning after a long absence and will be teaming up with Outlaw/5J Rodeo Company for a June 29th and 30th rodeo.
The Callaway Youth Expo and Callaway and Montgomery County Cattleman’s Association stepped up to the plate to fill a void left after the Mark Twain Lake Committee announced their rodeo’s retirement back in December.
“As soon as this great group of people heard Mark Twain Lake wasn’t going to continue their annual 4th of July rodeo they jumped into action,” said Lance McCollum, owner and operator of Outlaw/5J. “They called and said they wanted to pick up and take over where Mark Twain left off. And we couldn’t be more excited to be partnering with them on this new tradition.”
For many years Auxvasse brought pro-rodeo excitement to the area, but due to various reason had to step away from event. Now they are back and more than ready to take this year’s rodeo to the next level and as always, Outlaw/5J is set to continue their action packed rodeo productions.
“This Auxvasse group is already working to make this a strong tradition that will be around for quite awhile,” said McCollum. “They are making this a contestant’s rodeo for sure – they are starting out with $500 added.”
While they are still sorting out all of the details, but it’s safe to say everyone can go ahead and make plans to be in Auxvasse June 29th & 30th.
